Navy Day in New York 1945
Navy Day in New York in 1945 and Renshaw was there. President Harry Truman selected Renshaw as his vessel from which to review the event. If you attended our recent reunion in New Orleans, you had an opportuniity to view a video of the festivities on that day. The DVD was provided by shipmate Jack Katz and was shown at the reunion by Jim Giddings in our hospitality room. Navy Day 1945 was a very historic event for our ship.

If you missed the showing at the reunion, this may be your lucky day. Jim Giddings has prepared some DVDs of the presentation and is making them available to our shipmates. You can contact Jim for complete details and with any questions you may have. Contact info is shown below.
Time and effort in producing the DVDs will be offered at no charge by Jim Giddings. The disc will be provided to our interested shipmates for $10, plus shipping (which Jim expects to be $1.50 each). All proceeds, after expenses for material and shipping, will go directly into the Renshaw Reunion fund. So, if you order the DVD, you will be getting a nice piece of history on our ship and you will be helping us stay solvent and prepare for the next Renshaw reunion at the same time. Checks to cover the cost of the DVD (and shipping) should be made out to Jim (full name shown below) and mailed to the address indicated. He tells us that the time frame for delivery is expected to be 2 to 3 weeks.
